There are numerous alternatives to GMail, but no so much that care about privacy. You may have heard of Lavabit that was used by Edward Snowden, but sadly it’s now closed.

After having seen numerous reports on Google and particularly the fact that it’s business model is based on using personal data collected through its various services to sell them to advertisers.
Indeed, more than 90% of Google’s turnover is made from advertising. The Google search engine, GMail, Google Documents, Android, and other Google’s services are mainly used to collect data on users to offer better targeting for Google advertisement service customers.
I’ll start this journey to a Google free life by replacing GMail and Google search engine and will continue on other services and devices, detailing the alternatives I found, targeting mainly alternatives that respect privacy.
